Disc brakes are more efficient than drum brakes. They stop surpass.
You will ordinarily find rear disc brakes on sports cars or heavy trucks since they require greater braking power.
Unless you will be driving the car very hard, you can save money by going with the drum brake option.

personaly Im not huge on deciding to go with just one or the other, Im state certified in brakes and Ive seen and worked on cars that had only one or the other but in my opnion if at all possible get one with drum rears and disc fronts.
And if you have to choose one or the other I would go with disc, far more efficiant the only downfall is they warp easily depending on how you drive.
